Problem: |
Buzzing strings |
Possible Solutions: |
Fret dressing, Re-fret, Nut too high or low, Bridge not cut
correctly, Dead strings.
Always try a set of new strings first as this is often the simple
solution to what seems a major problem. A new set of strings also
often rectifies poor intonation.

Problem: |
No output or intermittent output. |
Possible Solutions: |
Check guitar with another guitar lead and if possible another
amp. Effects pedal connections electrical and audio should also
be checked for loose or broken connections. Are both pick-ups
affected? If so and its not one of the above, then it could be
your jack-socket switch or selector switch - there could be a
shorting of the signal to earth due to contact with the cavity
screening. If in doubt phone me and get your guitar looked at.

Problem: |
Guitar will not stay in tune. |
Possible Solutions: |
Make sure machine-heads are smooth and tight turning (some
can be tightened up with a screw at the top of the machine-head
peg). Old strings will stop your guitar from playing in tune but
new strings not put on correctly will have a serious impact on
tuning. To string correctly, see diagram (figure
1).
